I see that the awards season upon us. The Oscars are coming up, and they’re taking nominations for the I see they are now taking nominations for a Koufaxes (shouldn’t that be “Koufaces”?). Since my chances of winning a Koufax are about, well about the same as my chances of winning an Oscar, won’t be keeping my schedule clear. But I don’t see why I should be left out of the fun. I therefore inaugurate “The Bucies,” to be awarded on terms conditions, and understandings that I see fit. They’re like the Macarthur Fellowships, in that you don’t know you’ve won one until you get it. But watch this space on, oh, say, this Friday morning.
