The estimable Daniel Shaviro (discussing Abu Ghraib, again) says of our leader (link):
Well, one might ask why Bush as a tweener or adolescent dynamited frogs, as he apparently did.
No shit? Somehow I missed this one. And a Google search is remarkably unavailing. Google “bush ‘dynamited frogs’” and you get (909 am PST 19 Jun 07) only four hits—one Shaviro and one irrelevant (the other two are Daily Kos, which shouldn’t be much of a surprise).
Granted, it certainly fits your image, my image, of our leader. On the other hand, I wonder if there is any male who ever got through little boyhood without doing something disgusting to some other defenseless creature. Recall Edgar:
As flies to wanton boys are we to the gods;
They kill us for their sport.
--William Shakespeare, King Lear IV.i., 37–38
