Neglected to mention that while I was beavering away at a student problem sheet Wednesday night, the TV cop show (I assume it was Law & Order) on the other side of the room seemed to be showcasing the mortgage meltdown. Seemed to turn on a con artist who deceives homeowners in trouble into quitclaiming their homes, which he promptly resells.
But the plot quickly vectored off into international terrorism and a turf war with the Feds. And a lawyer who comes to court with a man's sock on one foot and a woman's sock on the other. Evidentl y this was a plot point. But query, can you tell the difference between a man's sock and a woman's sock? Across a crowded courtroom?
