3,200 Hours?
One of my students told me today that he'd heard that Silda Spitzer claims to have billed 3,200 hours a year at Skadden. Sure enough: link. So we can conclude there is more than one pathological liar in the family?
Sure it is, Jack; you bill for the time you spend dreaming about the file. And you bill in quarter-hour increments so that reviewing a routine transmittal letter is a quarter-hour and if you have a lot of letters, it adds up. Another way is that many of the firms allow you to add in the business development time. so if you go to a young lawyers' cocktail party, it becomes billable. And you bill for time on the train.
