We're off again for more family stuff and once again, it's good timing, however accidental. It's due to be 105-115 here today, ameliorated only by the continuing nasty fires in the mountains, which (irony) lay down a kind of cloud cover. The not-so-smallish town of Paradise, just uphill, is under threat this morning and we down here in the valley are enjoying just a hint of the Pompeii look, with a scattering of ash on car windshields, patios, etc.
Had hoped to write a few words about The Tale of Genji, but it will have to wait. Back Monday night.
