Putting together that previous post on Venice, I popped over to Donna Leon's webpage and learned that among her "dislikes," she lists "middle-aged male academics."
Well, that's a mitzvah. As an elderly male academic, it's nice to know that I make the cut. Hello, Donna? Buce here. Donna? Donna? Operator, I've been cut off... Damn Italian phone service.
Footnote: I see she also lists "what Luciano Pavoratti has become." That would be like, um, dead?
