Go to the website Scamvictims.com and the first thing you see is a warning that malefactors have been using the site name as a vehicle for, well, scams. This would be on the principle that one gullible enough to be taken before would be a likely prospect for a second act? I should think perhaps the reverse would hold: he who touches a hot stove once will never thereafter touch a cold stove. Or is it simply fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
