Just in from the Man Watch
The Wichita bureau transmits (but did not generate) another heapin' plastic tub full of turbulent rancor about the deficiencies of men. He notes an odd irony: it seems to be women, not men, who express themselves most loudly on the point that women should just knuckle under and deal with men in all their sniveling inadequacy, rather than trying to fashion something better. To which I might add: seems to me that it is women, not men who express themselves most loudly on the point that men ought to get it together and start to behave. I have never heard a woman say this to a man. I have fairly frequently heard it from men to men, or indeed from women to women. I do have a female relative who is not averse to saying "Oh, be a mensch", but since she's Italian and the semantics of "mensch" are complicated in any case, I am inclined to write her down as an outlier.
Once overheard: "[Redacted] can't be a lesbian. She hates men too much!"
