Wish I'd Written It: Salmon/Lewis on the Plutocracy

Best thing I've read all day, except why does he call it an American plutocracy? Seems to me the point is that it is a deracinated global, perhaps galactic, plutocracy.  The "American" wrinkle is that the plutocrats seem still to care enough about the American system that they actually feel the need to corrupt it.
