Proof That Roger Ailes Really Is A
(Insert Dimunitive Given Name
Of Former GOP President Here)

While you were enjoying this morning's story about how Roger Ailes tried to recruit David Petraeus as a presidential candidate, did you notice the casual insouciance with which Ailes pitched his own trusted minion into the shark tank?
Ailes added, “It sounds like she thought she was on a secret mission in the Reagan administration. . . . She was way out of line. . . . It’s someone’s fantasy to make me a kingmaker. It’s not my job.” He said that McFarland was not an employee of Fox but a contributor paid less than $75,000 a year.
Link.  "She" is, of course, Kathleen T. McFarland, the person Ailes deputed to carry the message from Ailes to Petraeus.   Her personal webpage says:
Kathleen Troia “KT” McFarland is FOX News’ National Security Analyst and appears regularly on FOX News and FOX Business News. She is also the host of FOXNews.com’s DEFCON 3, one of the internet’s most watched national security shows. Ms. McFarland writes a column for FOX FORUM, and records a weekly video blog for FOXnews.com, DEFCON 3 by KT. She is also the national security commentator for several radio programs on FOX ... .
" “It was more of a joke, a wiseass way I have,” Ailes told the Post--of the offer to Petraeus, apparently, not the contemptuous dismissal of McFarland.  I mean, honestly now, how can you take seriously anyone who makes only $75,000 a year?

She does all of that and makes less than $75,000 a year?

I was always told Fox was a paying organization...
