Tell me how this works. Do tenured professors get the next ten rows, and adjuncts the muddy flats a half mile from campus?

I assume that none save (perhaps) the president or chancellor and maybe the football coach are doing better than the 99 percent. But what does a dean earn these days. (Oh, please! Give me a range – not one of those, "Well, it all depends," answers.

Do deans get stock options if they're deans at, say, the University of Phoenix or Kaplan U? Do their underlings have to publish or perish? And why does it cost $50,000 or more for a year at an Ivy League University?

Very crankily yours,
